Paige Bueckers had a fitting goodbye for UConn fans.
In the final home game of her storied career on March 24, Bueckers tied her career-high in points while leading her team to a 91-57 win over South Dakota State. The NCAA Tournament win sent UConn off to the Sweet Sixteen, with the team heading to Spokane, Wash., after playing the first two games of the tournament in UConn.

Though the Huskies are off to the Sweet Sixteen and Bueckers is expected to land at No. 1 in the upcoming WNBA draft, the star let the UConn fans know they would always hold a special place in her heart.

Bueckers had already shared an emotional message about her college career coming to an end, saying in an interview with People that she is cherishing her remaining games.
“It’s like you know the end is near, so you’re trying to cherish it and drag it out as long as possible because you don’t want it to end,” Bueckers said. “There’s a lot of pressures that can come with it,”
Bueckers added. “Win or go home. It’s my last one ever. There really is no do-overs, so just trying not to think about that and really just playing with passion, joy, and to have fun.”
