He paid official visits to USC, Florida, and Miami in that order in the interim. Miami began their transition in the spring, and the Hurricanes’ most recent trip helped them advance and secure his pledge.

“When they came to see me and Jamie French at my school in the spring, I thought Miami might be the right place for me,” Stubbs said to On3. “My dad and I looked over the depth chart and saw an opportunity to play early, and they demonstrated a great deal of interest.” Miami has some amazing players up front, and their defensive line and front seven as a whole seem great. Following the spring tour, Miami put on quite the show with the official visit.

Florida gave Stubbs much to ponder as well. The Miami staff had a significant influence on his decision, but the Gators are not going anywhere.

This was an extremely difficult choice. I have received support from Florida, Miami, and USC since the beginning, but I went with Miami because I am confident in the maturity and leadership of coach Mario Cristobal’s staff. They, in my opinion, will best prepare me for the NFL. Miami’s sizable market can aid in the development of my brand. The coaching staff, which consists of Mike Rumph, Marc St. Felix, Derek Nicholson, Jason Taylor, Chevis Jackson, and coach Lance Guidry, gets along well and collaborates well.

“Coach Guidry brought coach Jackson from Marshall and has a track record of success as a safeties coach. He is a superb instructor in addition to being a fantastic coach. It seems like they want to turn me into Miami’s next big safety.

“They also get along well with Toby Bullock, my high school coach, and my teammate Deryc Plazz has been talking up Miami and recruiting me ever since.”

Stubbs was a wonderful recruit thanks to the crew. Along with those close to him, Cristobal and the Miami staff pursued the No. 56 prospect in the On3 Recruiting Ranking.

“This feels like a family decision because Miami and my parents get along well,” Stubbs remarked of the pledge. He feels comfortable in Coral Gables with his family.

“Everyone at Miami seems focused on winning, and the atmosphere is fantastic. I’ve gone there a number of times; I tented there during my eighth, ninth, and tenth grade years. Most recently, I went there three times. It seems like they want to turn me into Miami’s next big safety while I’m there. I’ll return at the end of July for the BBQ.

The new recruit is thrilled to play under Cristobal, the program’s leader, as he previously competed and won titles at Miami.

“Coach Cristobal is a genuine Miami man who has high regard. He’ll be with Miami for a very long time, in my opinion. The way he interacts and treats his family makes me think of my own family. In addition, he excels at identifying talent and signing players like Chris Ewald, Amari Wallace, and Elijah Melendez, who I believe are superior to their ranks.
