Other Offers
Prior to committing to Oregon State, Ti’a received offers from San Jose State, Boston College, Colorado State, Appalachian State, and Montana. Utah had also extended an offer over the weekend, but Ryan Gunderson had been tracking Ti’a for some time, leading to the offer during his visit.
Recruitment Ranking
Ti’a is rated as a three-star recruit by 247Sports, ranked as the No. 52 quarterback nationally and the No. 87 prospect in California for the 2025 class.
How He Fits with Oregon State
The Beavers currently have two quarterbacks with eligibility—starter Gevani McCoy and backup Gabarri Johnson. They also signed Kallen Gutridge in 2024, a true freshman. This creates an opportunity for Ti’a to compete for playing time next year, given the limited depth at the position.

Ti’a has been a player we’ve closely followed throughout the offseason—from the 7v7 circuit to events like the Spring Showcase in the Bay Area, the Under Armour Next Camp in Seattle, and the Sac State Mega Camp. Despite only playing half of his junior season, many schools were eager to see his senior highlights, which did not disappoint, leading to numerous offers.
Importantly, Oregon State, which observed him at the spring showcase and Sac State, was impressed by his early senior film. With his strong arm, quick release, and ability to throw precisely into tight spaces, he fits well into Ryan Gunderson’s offense. Additionally, his running ability (clocked at a 4.2 shuttle) adds an extra dynamic to his already versatile skill set.
Tristan Ti’a is set to be a valuable addition to the Oregon State program.
