Oregon State Beavers Receive Another Big News OF Talented shooting guard
Wayne Tinkle has once again looked far and wide to bolster Oregon State’s basketball roster.
On Thursday night, the Beavers landed a commitment from Malcolm Christie, a 6’5″ senior shooting guard originally from Canada who most recently played at Oakland University.
Christie hails from New Brunswick, just an hour from the Maine border, and began his college career at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. During the 2023–24 season, he starred for Dalhousie, earning conference MVP honors while averaging 22.1 points per game and setting a school single-game scoring record with 51 points on November 25, 2023. After the season, he transferred to Oakland University in Michigan.
With Oakland, Christie contributed 8.3 points per game over 20 minutes per contest and proved to be a capable three-point shooter, hitting 32.1% of his 224 attempts from beyond the arc in a system that encouraged perimeter shooting.
Interestingly, Christie faced Oregon State in December 2024, helping lead Oakland to an 80-74 overtime win. Now, he’ll look to contribute to the Beavers’ success in his final year of eligibility during the 2025–26 season.
