Oregon State Mackenzie Shivers suffers season-ending injury after surgery
Oregon State’s Mackenzie Shivers underwent surgery earlier this week, which will keep the junior guard out for the entire 2024-25 women’s basketball season.
Shivers joined OSU in May after a two-year stint at Mesa Community College.
Coach Scott Rueck announced the news of Shivers’ surgery following the Beavers’ 59-51 victory over Westmont College in an exhibition game on Friday night at Gill Coliseum.
During her sophomore year at Mesa, Shivers averaged 10.9 points and had a shooting percentage of 35% from three-point range. She was instrumental in leading her Mesa team to a third-place finish in the 2024 NJCAA Division II tournament.
