Ole Miss has landed yet another commitment from the softball portal, as UCLA sophomore outfielder Liesl Osteen committed to the Rebels on Tuesday. Osteen played in a total of 83 games with 16 starts over two seasons with the Bruins.

She is out of Oaks Christian High School in Simi Valley, Calif.

In 2025, Osteen played in 50 games for UCLA and made 16 starts (15 in right field, one in center field), making her first career appearances in the field and at the plate as a sophomore. She recorded the first two hits of her collegiate career and scored eight runs and rove in two. She logged her first career hit and RBI in a pinch-hit appearance versus Charlotte at the Clearwater Invitational (Feb. 14) and recorded an RBI base hit versus UC San Diego. Osteen made 20 putouts in the outfield, finishing the season with a 1.000 fielding percentage.

In her true freshmen season of 2024, she played in 33 games, exclusively as a pinch runner. She is 3-for-5 in stolen base attempts in her collegiate career.

Osteen is the seventh player to join the Rebels out of this year’s portal cycle. She joins a list of impressive transfer portal players that includes infielder Cassie Reasner (Kentucky), pitcher/utility player Hope Jenkins (UConn), infielder Laylonna Applin (Angelo State), outfielder Sydney Shiller (Texas Tech), outfielder Cassie Patterson (Nova Southeastern) and catcher/first baseman Kennedy Bunker (Fresno State).

Ole Miss has lost freshman All-American pitcher Miali Guachino to the transfer portal, as well as reserves Jamie Mackay (catcher), Abby Herndon (pitcher, to Auburn), Addison Duke (outfielder, to Arizona) and Tate Davis (infielder, to South Carolina).

Ole Miss head coach Jamie Trachsel took her program to the Women’s College World Series in 2025 for the first time in school history. Trachsel did it with eight transfer portal players and eight true freshmen.
