Ohio State football is certainly excited about Will Howard and his impressive new target, Jeremiah Smith!
After a standout performance against Akron, where Smith caught two touchdown passes, Howard couldn’t help but rave about him: “Jeremiah, he’s a dude, man. This is just the start for him.”
With six receptions for 92 yards, Smith made history as the first freshman Ohio State wide receiver to grab two touchdowns in a debut since Michael Wiley in 1996! Howard noted, “If you get him in one-on-one coverage, he’s going to win.” Sounds like a dynamic duo in the making!
Not only did Howard sing Smith’s praises, but head coach Ryan Day chimed in too, saying, “Sometimes you look at him, you don’t even think he’s quite human. He’s built different.”
Smith, ranked as the No. 4 player in the 2024 ESPN Top 300, is stepping into big shoes left by Marvin Harrison Jr. but is determined to make a name for himself without just relying on the hype. “I just wanted to come in and be a guy, just work,” he said.
With Ohio State demolishing Akron 52-6 to kick off the season, it looks like they’re in for an exciting year!
