Paige Bueckers Sheds Light on Ultimate Career Goal, and It’s Not Winning the WNBA or NCAA Title

If there’s any NCAA player who knows how to bounce back from tough challenges, it’s Paige Bueckers. From minor ankle sprains in her freshman year to significant injuries like ACL tears, tibial plateau fractures, and joint damage in her sophomore year, the UConn star has faced a lot.

Yet, she consistently rises to support the Huskies. Given her storied time at Storrs, what does she want her fans to remember about her?

Recently, Paige Bueckers and Flau’jae Johnson have been making waves off the court, so it was fitting for Johnson to invite Bueckers onto her podcast, “Best of Both Worlds with Flau’jae.” When asked what she hopes her UConn family remembers her for, Paige responded, “Just being resilient.

I’ve faced numerous challenges during my college years with injuries and adversity. I want to be remembered as a winner, a great teammate, and a strong leader. Being the best teammate I can be is really important to me.”

While discussing her legacy, she also shared her broader aspirations as a Husky. Paige told Johnson, “I want to be someone who does everything for the program and represents it proudly, achieving great things both on and off the court for the community. Being a great human being along with being a great basketball player is essential.”

Clearly, Paige Bueckers is focused on her UConn legacy as she prepares to leave Storrs after the 2024-25 season. And it’s not just her perspective—her friend and podcast host shares a similar journey.
