Notre Dame (14-1) is back in the national championship game for the first time since 2012, and the Fighting Irish are looking to win their first title since 1988.
In order to accomplish that they will need to knock off the red hot and heavily favored Ohio State Buckeyes (13-2).
Location: Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, Ga.) Date: Monday – January 20th Time: 7:30 PM ET Network:
ESPN Line: Ohio State -8.0; O/U: 45.5 We kick off our coverage of the matchup with a look at the Notre Dame depth chart.
Notre Dame Offense

Notre Dame will be without starting left tackle Anthonie Knapp, who was injured in the first half of the Orange Bowl victory over Penn State. Knapp was replaced by Tosh Baker in the game, and Baker is listed first on the depth chart for the Ohio State matchup. Behind him in an “or” is redshirt freshman Charles Jagusah, who was expected to be the starting left tackle before he went down with an injury during the first half of fall camp.
Senior right guard Rocco Spindler also went out of the matchup against Penn State when he re-injured his ankle on the final draft of the first half. Spindler was replaced by Jagusah at right guard. Head coach Marcus Freeman stated that Spindler was questionable and his availability would be dependent on how the week of preparation went. Should Spindler not be able to go it’s likely that Jagusah would replace him in the starting lineup.
Senior receiver Beaux Collins is listed first on the depth chart despite missing most of the Penn State game with a calf injury. Collins was replaced by both Jayden Thomas – who is second on the depth chart at X – and also Deion Colzie in the win over the Nittany Lions.
Notre Dame Defense

There were no changes to the Notre Dame depth chart on defense. This is also the first game in the postseason where Notre Dame doesn’t have any significant injuries to overcome or questions about the health of key players compared to where it was the previous weekend.
Notre Dame Special Teams

There were no changes to the Notre Dame depth chart on special teams.
