North Dakota State duo earned honors from the Missouri Valley Football Conference on Monday

North Dakota State running back CharMar Brown and left tackle Grey Zabel earned player of the week honors from the Missouri Valley Football Conference on Monday, Nov. 4, for their performances in last week’s 42-19 win over Northern Iowa.

Brown, a redshirt freshman from Omaha, Neb., was named Newcomer of the Week for the fourth time this season. He had his third 100-yard rushing game of the season with 18 carries for 124 yards and one touchdown. He averaged 6.9 yards per carry.

Zabel, a senior from Pierre, S.D., was named Offensive Lineman of the Week for the second time this season. He graded out at 94 percent with zero missed assignments, led the Bison offensive line in physicality points, and did not allow any tackles for loss, sacks or quarterback hits.

NDSU averaged 5.1 yards per carry, rushed for 189 yards in the game, and converted 7 of 10 third down opportunities to improve to 9-1 overall and 6-0 in the conference.
