The Vancouver Canucks announced on Sunday that they have inked forward Vilmer Alriksson to a three-year, entry-level deal. The 19-year-old from Stockholm, Sweden, tallied 17 goals and 16 assists in 67 games with the Ontario Hockey League.

The 19-year-old from Stockholm, Sweden, had 17 goals and 16 assists in 67 games with the Ontario Hockey League’s Guelph Storm last season.
Before joining the Storm, Alriksson played 43 games in Sweden with Djurgården’s junior team, where he recorded 21 points (12 goals, nine assists) and spent 22 minutes in the penalty box. Standing six-foot-six and weighing 234 pounds, the forward was picked by Vancouver in the fourth round, 107th overall, during the 2023 NHL Draft. Alriksson made a strong impression in the Canucks’ pre-season, delivering a big hit on Seattle’s Logan Morrison and then fighting veteran John Hayden in a 3-1 victory over the Kraken on Tuesday.
Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin noted that Alriksson has had a solid training camp with the team. “We really value his size, skating ability, and skill set, and we will keep an eye on his progress while helping him prepare for the next step in his hockey career this year,” Allvin stated in a release.
