NFL Takes Back Major Punishment Against Packers’ $48 Million Star

josh Jacobs has been a great addition to the Green Bay Packers since he signed a four-year,  $48 million free agent contract in March. This All-Pro running back is averaging 4.8 yards per carry and has accumulated 89 scrimmage yards and four touchdowns over nine games leading up to Sunday.

Back on September 27, Jacobs faced a  $45,020 fine from the NFL for unnecessary roughness and using his helmet against Tennessee Titans defensive back Quandre Diggs in Week 3. However, it seems that the 26-year-old Packers star has managed to avoid that penalty, as NFL insider Tom Pelissero reports that Jacobs’ fine from Week 3 has been rescinded by the league.

“Josh Jacobs’ $45,020 fine has been rescinded in its entirety, per his agent Chad Wiestling,” Pelissero wrote on X. “The second time in as many years Jacobs has had a fine for use of helmet erased on appeal. A third fine was also reduced.”

Jacobs was fined over  $43,000 for two separate use-of-helmet offenses in 2023, which has drawn more attention from the NFL leading up to the 2024 season. In early September, he was among more than 20 players mentioned in a league memo that warned teams about the serious consequences of future safety violations.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the NFL sent out a memo stressing the importance of safety and sportsmanship and warned players that they could face suspensions for any violations. While Jacobs and the team enjoy a bye week this Sunday, they’ll be back in action in Week 11 against their NFC North rival, the Chicago Bears.
