NFL Makes Announcement on Raiders Star Maxx Crosby

The Las Vegas Raiders achieved an upset victory over the Baltimore Ravens on the road in Week 2, marking their first win of the 2024 season. Quarterback Gardner Minshew delivered an efficient performance, completing 30-of-38 passes for 276 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, leading to a 26-23 win. Although the Raiders allowed the Ravens to accumulate 383 total yards under Lamar Jackson, the standout defensive player was Maxx Crosby.

The 27-year-old Pro Bowl defensive end recorded six tackles (four for loss), two sacks, two quarterback hits, and a pass deflection—being the sole Raiders player to pressure Jackson. For his exceptional efforts, the NFL named Crosby the AFC’s Defensive Player of the Week on September 18. With 3.0 sacks in two games, Crosby is on track for more than 20.0 sacks this season, following a career-high of 14.5 sacks last year in 17 games.

Next up, Crosby and the Raiders will face the Carolina Panthers in their home opener during Week 3, after the Panthers decided to bench their starting quarterback, Bryce Young, in favor of Andy Dalton.
