Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are headed into the offseason after missing the NFL playoffs for the second straight season.
The Bengals finished the season with a 9-8 record. Despite starting the year 1-4, Burrow had the Bengals rolling at the end of the season, riding a five-game win streak. But it wasn’t enough to earn a spot in the postseason.
Burrow and the Bengals may be preparing to regroup after a disappointing season, but the NFL on Thursday honored the play of Cincinnati’s star quarterback. Burrow has been named the AFC Player of the Month, spanning December and the last week of the regular season in January.
In the months of December and January, Burrow totaled 16 touchdowns and 1,890 passing yards with a 76.2 completion percentage and a 111.2 passer rating.
He finished the 2024 season with 43 touchdowns and 4,918 yards, completing 70.6% of his pass attempts. Burrow ranked No. 1 in the NFL in passing touchdowns and passing yards and No. 3 in QBR (75.0).
Burrow became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for at least 250 yards and three touchdowns in eight consecutive games.
Burrow has the most 4,000-yard passing seasons in Bengals history (3), surpassing Carson Palmer and Andy Dalton.
