News Update: Michael Jordan’s record for the most NBA 30-point games is surpassed by LeBron James.

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, who is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, on Friday night broke basketball legend Michael Jordan’s record for the most 30-point games in the league’s history.

James, 40, who is already in his 22nd NBA campaign, scored 30 points for the 563rd time to surpass Jordan’s record set in 2003.

Regarded as one of the best basketball players of all time, Jordan won six NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s.

With the help of James, the Lakers beat the Atlanta Hawks 119-102 in a Friday game at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Additionally, US forward James beat former Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki in most games played in the league.

Lakers regular James appeared in his 1,523rd NBA game on Friday to be fourth in the all-time games played list.

Germany’s Nowitzki, who was the 2011 NBA champion with the Mavericks, played in the NBA for a long time and has already retired from the game.

James is a four-time NBA champion, the last with the Lakers in 2020, and MVP, and became the NBA’s all-time scoring leader in 2023.

One of the greatest basketball players, James separately secured three Olympic gold medals with the Team USA at Beijing 2008, London 2012, and Paris 2024.
