News Report : Nebraska’s Prospective Player Announce Commitment Decision
The upcoming month is set to be active for Nebraska football recruiting fans. Official visits kick off this weekend, and commitments are expected to follow soon after. There are around 28 official visitors scheduled, though that number may drop to 27 since Ryan Mosley has committed to Georgia.

Some recruits may finalize their decisions before their visits, which is common in recruiting. However, one prospect to watch is Darion Jones, a three-star cornerback from Nebraska who is set to announce his commitment on July 4th.
While Nebraska has only offered a few in-state recruits for the 2026 class, Jones, the younger brother of current Husker Donovan Jones, is one of them. The Omaha native stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 170 pounds, ranking No. 489 in the 2026 class according to 247 Sports composite rankings; he’s also the second-best recruit in Nebraska.
As per Greg Smith from Rivals, Jones’ decision will be between Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas State, and Iowa State. All five schools have extended offers since January. Iowa State might pose a significant challenge, having secured six commitments from Nebraska, including the top-ranked player Jeff Thomalla.
Iowa is another team to keep an eye on. Each school will conduct official visits, with Kansas State visiting last weekend (May 23), followed by Minnesota this weekend (May 30), Iowa State on June 6, Nebraska on June 13, and Iowa on June 20.
A decision is expected shortly thereafter. Nebraska is showing favorable signs, with crystal ball projections leaning towards them, and the On3 prediction machine also forecasting a positive outcome for the Huskers as June approaches.
Now it’s crucial to finish strong, and Matt Rhule has proven to be quite effective at that
