The Huskers scored a major victory on National Signing Day with the addition of four-star wide receiver Cortez Mills, who switched his commitment from Oklahoma to Nebraska on Tuesday.
After nearly two years of recruitment, Mills, along with the rest of Nebraska’s 2025 class, is expected to sign his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday. The coaching staff, including Matt Rhule and Garret McGuire, has been a significant factor in Mills’ decision, as the receiver had long been a target.
Mills becomes the latest in a series of successful flips for Nebraska, who has added four flipped recruits since the summer, including wide receiver Isaiah Mozee, offensive lineman JuJu Marks, and linebacker Dawson Merritt. Mills visited Nebraska unofficially in January and then returned for an official visit during the Red-White game in the spring.
Although Mills was initially committed to Oklahoma, he continued to consider other schools, including Nebraska, and attended their game against Colorado in September. Despite some uncertainty about his visit, he was present to watch the Huskers defeat the Buffaloes.
Nebraska kept pursuing Mills throughout the season and successfully flipped him after the regular season concluded. Mills joins Mozee and Jackson Carpenter as the wide receivers in the 2025 class. Nebraska is still pursuing another top target, wide receiver Michael Terry III, who will announce his decision at 8:15 AM on Wednesday.
