Nebraska misses out on four-star defensive lineman Valdin Sone

One of the top defensive recruits in the class of 2026 announces his college commitment on Friday. Four-star defensive lineman Valdin Sone committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. Sone decided among Nebraska, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia.

Sone has seen his profile grow over the past couple of months. He participated in the Navy All-American Bowl, recording a quarterback pressure in the game. The four-star was born in Sweden and is a strong run defender with good size, standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 310 pounds.

This is obviously a big swing and a miss by the Huskers, but if the current recruiting landscape has taught us anything, it’s that nothing is official until National Signing Day.

Nebraska’s class of 2026 currently holds 12 commitments. The class is ranked No. 58 in the nation and No. 17 in the Big Ten according to On3/Rivals.
