Nebraska defensive backer Made A Hilarious Comment After His Return
Nebraska defensive back DeShon Singleton had the option to enter the NFL Draft but chose to return for his senior year, aiming to help lead the Huskers to a strong 2025 season. He’s already hyping up the season opener against Cincinnati, which will take place at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
Singleton didn’t hold back when describing the energy fans can expect from the matchup.
“We’re about to make people in wheelchairs stand up,” he said with a grin.
Standing 6-foot-3, Singleton previously shared that his decision to come back was deeply personal.
“The turning point was sitting down and talking it over with my family,” Singleton told SI.com. “I felt like God gave me another opportunity out of nowhere, and I had to take it.”
Over three seasons with Nebraska, Singleton has recorded 93 tackles, four pass breakups, and one interception.
Last season, the Huskers finished 7-6 under head coach Matt Rhule and ended their campaign with a 20-15 win over Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl — Nebraska’s first bowl victory since 2015.
The highly anticipated season opener against Cincinnati kicks off at 9 p.m. ET on August 28 and will air on ESPN. This will be just the second meeting between the two programs; Nebraska won the first in 1906 with a dominant 41-0 shutout.
