The Miami Hurricanes appear to be the early favorite for Northwestern High School (Fla.) junior cornerback J’Vari Flowers. However, NC State football recruiters entered the mix on Tuesday by extending him an offer.
Flowers, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound four-star prospect, now boasts more than 20 offers, including several from ACC programs such as Syracuse, Louisville, Pitt, SMU, and Georgia Tech. The interest is well-earned, as he is ranked No. 74 overall, No. 8 among cornerbacks, and No. 13 in Florida in the 247Sports 2026 Composite rankings.

“Aggressive cover corner who could become a game-changer in the slot thanks to his physicality and quickness,” observed 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins in his evaluation of J’Vari Flowers. “Although heās measured under 5-foot-11, he compensates for the lack of length with exceptional foot speed and a solid, muscular build… Heās also not shy about delivering a big hit.”
Dave Doeren and the NC State football recruiting staff have recently turned more attention to the 2026 class, expanding their wishlist by offering several high school juniors in recent weeks while finalizing efforts for the 2025 cycle and the transfer portal.
Currently, the 2026 Wolfpack class features just two early commitments: Reagan High School (N.C.) three-star quarterback Jacob Smith and Trinity Episcopal School (Va.) three-star offensive tackle Brady Sakowitz.
