NC state adds new football series, several changes likely

NC State and Kansas State will face off again after their meeting in the Pop Tarts Bowl to close last season. The schools have finalized a home-and-home series starting in Raleigh in 2027 and moving to the Little Apple in 2032.

I appreciate that NC State is scheduling teams it hasn’t faced often (if at all), as the bowl game marked the first-ever matchup between the Wolfpack and Wildcats. To my knowledge, NC State has never played a game in Kansas (please correct me if I’m mistaken). While they have faced KU a few times, those matches were exclusively in bowl games.

NC State’s 2027 schedule will also feature a return trip to Texas Tech, leading me to wonder if that game is now at risk of being canceled. If they retain it (which I believe they should), they’ll still need to add one more non-conference game that season, likely a home game against a weaker Group-of-5 opponent.
