MUST READ: Tiger-Cats make final roster cuts, release Honest Admission and Bennett

Receiver Omar Bayless and Canadian defensive end Mason Bennett are among the notable players released by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, as announced on Saturday. Canadian Football League teams had until 10 p.m. Eastern Time to finalize their training camp transactions. Hamilton trimmed its roster by cutting 29 players and moving 10 more to the practice roster.

Bayless, who had a productive rookie season in 2023 with 17 receptions for 214 yards and two touchdowns in seven games, and Bennett, who contributed five tackles and one sack in 14 games last year, were part of the roster cuts.

The Tiger-Cats are set to kick off the regular season in Calgary on June 7th.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have announced a list of roster cuts, affecting several positions:

1. Defensive Line: Mason Bennett, Dyton Blackett, Anthony Federico, Mitchell Townsend, Darrius Moragne, Adam Plant, Derrick Tangelo, and Cedric Wilcots.

2. Defensive Back: Jonathan Giustini, Shakur Brown, Arquon Bush, and David Vereen.

3. Linebacker: Aaron Hansford and Marvin Pierre.

4. Offensive Line: John Kourtis, Jakub Szott, and Kendrick Sartor.

5. Quarterback: Kevin Thomson.

6. Receiver: Omar Bayless, Chris Coleman, Dev Holmes, Jacob Patten, Marcus Rogers, and TJ Vasher.

7. Tight End: Michael Ezeike and Camren McDonald.

8. Running Back: Matthew Peterson and Calvin Tyler Jr.

These cuts bring the roster closer to its final form ahead of the regular season, which begins on June 7th in Calgary.
