Must Read: Manuel Margot Breaks Silence After Dodgers Trade Him to Minnesota Twins

Manuel Margot showed up at the Minnesota Twins’ camp within one day of being traded by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This marks the second instance in the last fortnight that Margot has found himself familiarizing with a new group of teammates in the clubhouse. Having been traded four times in his career, Margot recognizes and accepts that it’s all part of the business in professional baseball.

This time around, the transition happened swiftly. “It’s a common part of the game. It’s quite challenging, especially adjusting quickly to the new organization you find yourself in. … It wasn’t unexpected. My lawyer had already informed me in the morning that there might be a move, so I had to be prepared. I saw it coming,” Manuel Margot shared with The Athletic.

Margot’s recent journey across the country has been quite the escapade. In December, he transitioned from the Tampa Bay team, where his family resides all year, to the Dodgers. Just two weeks ago, he was in Phoenix for the Cactus League but had to return to Tampa Bay on Monday before embarking on a two-hour drive to Fort Myers on Tuesday morning.

After being traded, Margot found himself in the starting lineup for the Dodgers as they faced off against the Colorado Rockies in Scottsdale. Reflecting on the hectic day, Margot shared, “It was a crazy day. We were playing away.

I had to quickly drive about 45 minutes to my house, pack everything into a suitcase, and rush to the airport… I woke up at 5 a.m. just to briefly see my kids since I couldn’t be with them on Monday. Then, at 6 a.m., I hit the road and made it here.” Margot is set to take on a role for the Twins similar to the one held by Michael A. Taylor last year – a right-handed hitter capable of playing any outfield position. Despite going 0-for-6 with a strikeout in his two Cactus League games with the Dodgers, Margot is gearing up for his new challenge with the Twins.
