5 Blues compete at IIHF World Championship

Blues Well-Represented at 2024 IIHF World Championship

The 2024 IIHF World Championship, underway in Czechia since May 10, features a strong contingent of St. Louis Blues players and staff representing their countries on the international stage.

Blues on the Ice

Five Blues players are participating in the tournament: Jordan Binnington, Joel Hofer, and Colton Parayko are donning the red and white for Canada, while Kevin Hayes and Matthew Kessel are skating for Team USA.

Blues Behind the Bench

The Blues’ influence extends beyond the players, with General Manager Doug Armstrong leading the management group for Team Canada and Steve Ott serving as an assistant coach.

Preliminary Round Success

Both teams have successfully navigated the preliminary round, with Team Canada emerging undefeated (7-0) atop Group A and Team USA finishing second in Group B with a 5-1-1 record. The stage is now set for the knock-out rounds, where the stakes will be higher and the competition fiercer.
