Monday Habs Headlines: Juraj Slafkovský continues to produce at Worlds.

In Montreal, Juraj Slafkovsky enjoyed a fantastic season finale. After finishing the season with twenty goals, he nearly immediately left to play for his nation in the World Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic.

He is the face of Slovak hockey, and he accepts this responsibility wholeheartedly, despite just being 20 years old. We’ve witnessed him lead by example on the ice, converse with his teammates on the bench, and address the media like a captain following losses.

Although he hasn’t scored yet, he has contributed significantly to his team’s plays.

He gave a performance versus Latvia in today’s match. To start with, he gave his nation the lead late in the third stanza with a brilliant pass to Peter Cehlarik. He protected the puck with his body and connected with his buddy with remarkable patience.

Because the Latvians tied the game, a shootout and overtime were required. Slafkovsky distinguished himself by patiently outwitting the goalie.

When he came back a second time, he was unable to defeat the other goalie, which allowed Latvia to win.

He accused himself of missing the second shot at the news conference.
