Missouri Tigers Announces Unexpected Heartbreaking News on Monday Morning

Mizzou has confirmed when the Tigers will hit the field again under head coach Eli Drinkwitz for the 2025 spring practice session. However, fans should not expect the usual spring game this year — or next.

On Monday, Mizzou confirmed that the Tigers will hit the field this Friday for the first practice of the spring. The spring session will run through March 20 for Mizzou, but there will be no plans to host a traditional spring game in 2025 or 2026.

According to a press release from the university, the decision was made due to the ongoing construction and renovation of Memorial Stadium. Unfortunately, all of Mizzou’s practices will also be closed to the public per the press release.

The Tigers are coming off one of the best 2-year stretches in program history under Drinkwitz but head into 2025 at +20000 to win the national title at DraftKings. Be sure to check out the DraftKings Missouri promo code for the best offers on all things Mizzou.

Mizzou joins a growing list of teams and programs looking to ditch the traditional model of a spring game. Ole Miss got the bowl rolling last year with its wild and whacky day of flag football, dunk contests and non-football-related activities, and other teams are following suit this year.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian confirmed the Longhorns are ditching their spring game and Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule eluded to the fact that the Huskers are likely to ditch a spring game — at least a televised one — over concerns of tampering.
