The Milwaukee Bucks prevailed in the Gary Trent Jr. free-agency sweepstakes, despite rumors of interest from a number of teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers.
For the Bucks, who had very little cap space left before free agency, this was a huge acquisition. It’s a huge victory for the organization that they were still able to entice Trent to Milwaukee in spite of offers from other teams.
Trent reportedly consented to sign a veteran’s minimum contract with the Bucks for a duration of one year. It seems like Trent had the chance to sign a mid-level contract with other teams, which would have given him a lot more money than the $2.6 million that he is expected to make in Milwaukee this upcoming season.
Fans of the Bucks reacted quite enthusiastically to this significant coup on X, the former Twitter.
