Michigan State’s Tom Izzo Dealt With Another Unfortunate News After NCAA Tournament
The Michigan State Spartans had one of the top teams in college basketball last season under the leadership of head coach Tom Izzo.
Izzo guided the team to the Elite Eight, where they fell 70-64 to No. 1 seed Auburn. Prior to that loss, his squad achieved victories over Ole Miss, New Mexico, and Bryant.
After a strong season in the Big Ten, Izzo and his coaching staff faced a setback with their roster.
As per the official Big Ten social media account, Michigan State standout Jase Richardson has announced his decision to declare for the 2025 NBA Draft.
“Forever a Spartan Dawg,” said Richardson.

In his freshman year at Michigan State, Richardson averaged 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.
In his last outing as a Spartan, he recorded 11 points, three rebounds, and three steals in the defeat against Auburn.

Richardson initially committed to Michigan State as the No. 3 combo guard and the 32nd overall player in the 2024 class, according to 247Sports.
Izzo and his coaching staff will face a significant challenge in replacing him, as they lose one of the key players from a team that finished with a 30-7 record and secured the Big Ten regular-season championship.
