Michigan is actively enhancing its roster through the transfer portal.
The Wolverines experienced a setback when their standout defensive duo, juniors Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant, declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. Previously, they secured former Alabama tackle Damon Payne Jr., and now they have added another defensive tackle to their lineup. On Saturday, the Wolverines learned that Clemson defensive tackle Tre Williams had committed to join the team. Michigan confirmed his signing by announcing it on their X account.

Williams, who signed with Clemson in 2020, was ranked as the 94th prospect according to the Composite rankings at that time. The Washington, D.C. native spent five seasons with the Tigers and used two redshirt years. He participated in two games during his first year and also received an injury waiver. With Michigan, he will have one year of eligibility left. Throughout his time at Clemson, Williams recorded 42 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and four sacks over 44 career games, starting in four of those contests.
He is expected to play a rotational role with the Wolverines next season.
