Maryland receive another sudden news after Big Ten competition finals Sunday evening
Maryland track and field wrapped up the final day of Big Ten competition on Sunday with five podium finishes.
Those top performances came from the men’s 4×100-meter and women’s 4×400-meter relay teams, as well as individual efforts from 400-meter runner Maya Valmon, 800-meter runner Eric Albright, and triple jumper Tolu Akinduro.
The men’s 4×100 relay placed eighth, while the women’s 4×400 relay team clocked the third-fastest time in school history, earning sixth place. Valmon took eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 53.82 seconds, Albright finished seventh in the 800 meters at 1:49.13, and Akinduro placed eighth in the triple jump with a 12.64-meter mark.
Additional notable efforts included Kami Joi Hickson’s ninth-place finish in the 800 meters and Jennessa Wolfe’s 15th-place result in the high jump.
