Maryland football says goodbye to three key players

Maryland suffered a defeat against Indiana, losing three key players to injuries in their 42-28 loss. The injuries to major contributors have severely impacted the Terrapins’ chances for long-term success this season following a disappointing result at Memorial Stadium.

This defeat leaves Maryland with a record of 3-2 overall and 0-2 in the Big Ten, heading into a break filled with uncertainty about the future of injured senior wide receivers Tai Felton and Kaden Prather, along with senior safety Dante Trader Jr..

Trader left the game in the first quarter, Felton exited early in the second half, and Prather departed midway through the third quarter while the Hoosiers maintained a 35-21 lead. The Terrapins struggled to mount a serious comeback, allowing Indiana’s high-powered offense, ranked fifth in the nation, to accumulate 510 yards in front of a crowd of 48,323.

The Maryland football team absorbed far more than simply a loss to Indiana on Saturday

“A bunch of guys [got hurt], but that’s part of the game, man,” said Maryland Coach Michael Locksley, who did not provide any additional details during his postgame news conference. “I really don’t concern myself. I have to make sure I’m preparing those [second-string players], because this is what’s going to happen. Indiana’s a good team. This is a really tough league that we play in, and there is not a Saturday that we show up as the Terps that we can feel like we can just show up and win because every game will be a battle.”
