Otega Oweh led Kentucky in scoring last season, averaging 16.2 points per game, and also topped the team with 1.6 steals per game. His impressive performance earned him a spot on the All-SEC Second Team.
After the NCAA Tournament, Oweh declared for the 2025 NBA Draft while keeping his college eligibility intact. He has now chosen to return to Lexington — a decision that could significantly benefit the Wildcats.

Head coach Mark Pope had to overhaul the roster after many players left for Arkansas with former coach John Calipari. Remarkably, this year’s Kentucky team became the first in NCAA men’s basketball history to reach the Sweet 16 without having a single returning scorer from the previous season.
With Oweh returning, Kentucky regains a likely First-Team All-American and a strong contender for SEC Player of the Year.
