A hectic week as the Ottawa Senators inked forward to a one-year, two-way contract.

Today, the Ottawa Senators officially signed 23-year-old forward Jan Jenik to a one-year, two-way agreement valued at $775,000 for the NHL and $190,000 for the AHL. Jenik, who was acquired from the Utah Hockey Club in a recent trade where forward Egor Sokolov went the opposite way, was selected 65th overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the third round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

Having played 22 NHL games, all with the Coyotes, Jenik made his debut on May 7, 2021, and netted his first NHL goal in that same game, accumulating a total of six points from four goals and two assists.

The player from Nymburk, Czechia, spent most of the 2023-24 season with the Tuscon Roadrunners, the AHL affiliate of the Coyotes. In 55 regular season games, Jenik accumulated 16 goals and 20 assists, totaling 36 points.

Throughout his career in the AHL, spanning 165 games, Jenik has scored 46 goals and provided 74 assists, amounting to 120 points.

Furthermore, Jenik represented Team Czech Republic in both the 2019 and 2020 World Junior Championships, where he wore an ‘A’ on his jersey in 2020 as part of the team’s leadership group. Across six games between the two tournaments, he achieved two goals and three assists, accumulating five points.
