Luke Fickell And The Wisconsin Faces New NCAA Pressure Amid Rising Recruiting Interest

Wisconsin Badgers defensive line commit Djidjou Bah is seeing a surge in recruiting interest, as several programs are now actively trying to flip his commitment.
Bah, a three-star prospect in the 2026 class, pledged to Wisconsin in June after only a few weeks of contact with the coaching staff. The Badgers moved quickly—offering a scholarship, scheduling a visit, and securing his commitment in rapid succession. While the early recruiting win was impressive for Wisconsin, Bah’s recruitment has since heated up once again.
Since committing, Bah has received new offers from Missouri, Penn State, and most recently, Colorado. He’s also made visits to Missouri, NC State, and Michigan State after his commitment. Looking ahead, Bah has indicated that he may take game-day visits to both Wisconsin and Penn State this fall.
The renewed attention comes as Bah’s recruiting profile continues to rise. Before committing to the Badgers, he had already collected several offers, but the list has grown significantly since June. Programs like Penn State, Missouri, and Colorado are now pushing hard to land him.
A major factor behind the increased interest is a potential position change. Wisconsin currently sees Bah as an edge rusher in their 3-3-5 scheme, while schools like Missouri, Colorado, and Penn State are envisioning him as a defensive tackle. In particular, Missouri believes Bah could thrive in its 4-2-5 defense, which utilizes quicker, more agile interior linemen—an area where Bah’s skill set could be a perfect fit.

The Wisconsin Badgers may need to keep a close eye on Colorado, as the Buffaloes present an appealing option for Djidjou Bah. Not only could he see significant playing time early, but he would also have the chance to play at defensive tackle—a position he’s being considered for by several programs. New defensive coordinator Robert Livingston, who recently made the jump from the NFL, is introducing a hybrid defensive scheme that may fit Bah’s skill set well.
Colorado’s defensive line is one of its more veteran-heavy units, but the coaching staff appears eager to bring in young talent to begin contributing right away. Wisconsin finds itself in a similar position, relying heavily on experienced players up front and likely in need of younger depth to rotate in.
While Bah has remained committed to Wisconsin for now, the possibility of him flipping remains very real. Colorado’s interest is unlikely to be the last, as more programs are expected to extend offers and potentially lock in campus visits. The Badgers may have secured Bah early, but keeping him in the fold will be a continued challenge.
