LSU legend Joe Burrow is on the Sports Illustrated cover, and it’s not at all for football
Joe Burrow is once again the cover star for Sport Illustrated. He graced the cover multiple times before for football, two editions while at LSU and one with the Cincinnati Bengals for a season preview, but he’s now getting attention for his fashion sense.
The story published on Thursday morning features a photo of Burrow in a suit while sitting an ice tub with the headline “Brrr: Why Joe Burrow (and seemingly every other athlete) is so immersed in fashion.” Throughout his career, the quarterback has developed a relationship with Anna Wintour, the global editorial director of Vogue. Wintour attended a Bengals game against the New York Giants last season in a suite to support the playcaller. Burrow and fellow 2019 LSU champion wide receiver Justin Jefferson walked in Vogue World 2024 in Paris.

In the cover story interview, Burrow said he chooses his colors daily based on his mood, and his stylist Kyle Smith said Burrow’s lack of following trends is why his style is so unique. Burrow also once dyed his hair blonde and is thinking about adding in patches of pink in the future.
“Joe always looks great,” Wintour said in the story. “He has tons of confidence and is up for trying new things — that seems natural to who he is. It was wonderful to see him at the Met Gala this year in Gucci. Blue suited him.”
