LSU just made a weird move after Nussmeier injury rumors started swirling
On Wednesday, the college football internet world was taken by storm over concerns that Garrett Nussmeier had suffered a significant injury. However, those rumors were quickly squashed by members of the LSU media.
In reality, Nussmeier did go down with an apparent injury in Wednesday’s practice session, but LSU reporters swiftly stated that he was fine and that there was no concern of a major injury. Then on Thursday, LSU made a slight change to their practice plans for Friday that have the Tiger faithful curious.
LSU’s change in media availability has Tiger fans curious
On Thursday night, LSU beat writers stated that Friday’s camp session was now closed to the media. That news comes as a surprise, and the timing is a bit peculiar.
Hmm…#LSU changes up media viewing for practice tomorrow.
No “open viewing” tomorrow for the media.
OC Joe Sloan will still speak to the media tomorrow.

LSU offensive coordinator Joe Sloan is still slated to speak with the media following Friday’s session. In addition, Saturday’s practice is still open to the media.
At this time, there is nothing to suggest that Friday’s change is because of anything specific. Something minor could have happened behind the scenes that led to things getting shifted around a bit. But, the timing has Tiger fans curious. It’s possible that Sloan discusses Nussmeier’s status on Friday, but if not, all eyes will turn to Saturday’s practice.
If Nussmeier is battling something minor, the Tigers don’t have the luxury of easing into 2025 with a cupcake opponent in Week 1. LSU hits the road to battle Clemson on Aug. 30. Both teams are ranked in the top-ten of the preseason coaches poll, and one analyst even has Clemson listed as his No. 1 team heading into the season. LSU needs to set the tone and put the country on notice with a monster win.
