LSU fans, here’s the latest on injuries ahead of matchup
The LSU Tigers entered Week 1 against Clemson at full strength. Brian Kelly even noted that if LSU was going to use an injury report, they wouldn’t have had anybody on it. Heading into Week 2 against Louisiana Tech, LSU has a limited injury report once again.
LSU Tigers Week 2 injury report
WR Destyn Hill left the game against Clemson after playing just two offensive snaps. It was later revealed that the Florida State transfer had suffered a fractured hand that required surgery. According to Kelly, Hill had surgery earlier this week on Monday that required a plate to be inserted into his hand. It sounds like a tough procedure for a wideout, but Kelly doesn’t expect Hill to miss much time. Hill won’t play today against Louisiana Tech, but he could be back in action as early as next week against Florida.
Kicker Damian Ramos nailed a 52-yard field goal in the second quarter against Clemson, but didn’t look 100 percent on his second attempt. Ramos badly missed a 46-yard field goal attempt in the third quarter, and was seen hobbling off the field immediately after. Earlier this week, Kelly stated that Ramos had a cramp in his calf muscle on his plant leg. There haven’t been any further developments or reports regarding Ramos’ status for the matchup against Louisiana Tech, but this could be a scenario where no news is good news. For now, it appears that Ramos will be in action tonight against the Bulldogs.
Ranked as the No. 3 team in the country, LSU is looking to move to 2-0 on Saturday night in the home opener at Tiger Stadium. It will be the 21st meeting between LSU and Louisiana Tech, and the first since 2018. The Tigers have won 16 consecutive meetings against the Bulldogs, and Brian Kelly’s squad is heavily favored by professional oddsmakers. LSU begins SEC play next weekend against Florida.
