Louisville Running Back Isaac Brown Receive Another Big Tittle

Louisville running back Isaac Brown has earned a spot on the 2025 Walter Camp Player of the Year Award preseason watch list, the program announced Monday.
This honor adds to an already impressive list of preseason accolades for Brown ahead of the 2025 season. He has received four preseason All-America selections from three different outlets, earned a spot on the Maxwell Award watch list, and was named to the 2025 Preseason All-ACC Team.
The 5-foot-9, 190-pound all-purpose back made a major impact as a true freshman in 2024. Brown played in all 13 games for the Cardinals, starting nine—eight of them consecutively to close the season. He rushed for 1,173 yards and 11 touchdowns on 165 carries and added 30 receptions for 152 yards and a score.
Brown’s 7.1 yards per carry led the ACC, while his total rushing yardage ranked third in the conference and his rushing touchdowns placed fifth. He not only broke Lamar Jackson’s school record for rushing yards by a true freshman but also tied Jackson’s record for most 100-yard rushing games by a freshman, with five.
Brown became the first true freshman in Louisville history to surpass 1,000 rushing yards in a season. His total led all Power Five freshmen and ranked second among all FBS true freshmen, behind only Ahmad Hardy’s 1,351 yards at ULM.
His standout season earned him multiple postseason honors, including Second-Team All-ACC, ACC Offensive and Overall Rookie of the Year, and Freshman All-American recognition from PFF and 247Sports.
Louisville begins its third season under head coach Jeff Brohm on Saturday, Aug. 30, when they host Eastern Kentucky at L&N Stadium.
