Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young stirred some excitement last Wednesday when he rolled imaginary dice on the New York Knicks’ center-court logo at Madison Square Garden after leading his team to a 108-100 victory, securing their spot in the semifinals of the NBA Cup in Las Vegas. When asked about Young’s celebration, Knicks player Jalen Brunson chose to take the high road, acknowledging that if the Knicks wanted to stop Young from showboating, they should’ve taken home the win.

However, former Knicks center Isaiah Hartenstein had a different take, indicating he wouldn’t have let Young celebrate so brazenly. He stated that if he were still part of the team, he “wouldn’t have let him roll the dice on midcourt” because he “always has love for New York.”

Brunson responded to Hartenstein’s comments, noting they were irrelevant since Hartenstein is now with the Oklahoma City Thunder, who will be facing the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Cup final. “Isaiah isn’t here,” Brunson said, via Zach Braziller of the New York Post. “Do I have an issue with [Young’s celebration]? Yeah, but he won, they won. So why put in false and fake energy to do something like that, when you could’ve done that to try and win the game? That’s just my point of view on it.”
