Kentucky Talented Guard Travis Perry Is Gone
Travis Perry, a transfer from Kentucky, is remaining in the SEC. Just one day after Florida transfer Denzel Aberdeen announced his commitment to Kentucky, Perry revealed his decision to leave the Wildcats. Now, he’s found his next destination—according to Joe Tipton of On3, Perry has committed to Ole Miss and head coach Chris Beard.
Despite speculation that Perry might end up at a mid-major, numerous high-major programs pursued him. The 6-foot-1 guard from Kentucky drew interest from schools like Louisville, Arkansas, Tennessee, Maryland, Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri, LSU, WKU, and notably Ole Miss. Beard and his staff had previously recruited Perry in high school and wasted no time re-engaging once he entered the transfer portal.
It didn’t take long before Ole Miss emerged as a serious contender, and now Perry will suit up for the Rebels.

Perry’s decision to stay within the SEC reflects the high regard programs have for his potential, especially considering the number of conference schools that showed interest. With Kentucky’s backcourt getting increasingly crowded, Perry saw an opportunity to earn a bigger role elsewhere.
As the all-time leading scorer in Kentucky high school basketball history, Perry is eager to make an impact at Ole Miss. He averaged 2.7 points in 9.7 minutes per game last season, with some of his stronger performances coming in SEC play. He now looks poised to take on a more prominent role with the Rebels.
