Last year, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts mentioned in an interview with Essence magazine, “I’m not married or anything like that. But I am spoken for.” That “not married” detail is about to change for the Pro Bowler.
Hurts and Byronna Rivera Burrows met while both were students at the University of Alabama, and they are now engaged.
The couple shared photos with Essence from the special night when Hurts proposed.
Although Hurts transferred after three years to play his senior season at Oklahoma, Burrows earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Alabama.
Hurts also has a bachelor’s degree in communication and information sciences from Alabama, along with a master’s degree in human relations from Oklahoma.
Burrows joined Hurts and the Eagles on their recent trip to Sao Paulo, Brazil, for the season opener against the Green Bay Packers, which Philadelphia won 34-29.
Next, the Eagles will face the Atlanta Falcons at 7:15 p.m. CDT on Monday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, with the game being broadcast on ESPN.
