Torin Initially committed to Wisconsin, then switched to Minnesota, and has now re-committed to Wisconsin after participating in the Gophers’ “Summer Splash” recruiting weekend.
The Middleton, Wisconsin, defensive lineman verbally committed to Wisconsin in March, changed his commitment to Minnesota three weeks later, and on Tuesday, he switched back to Wisconsin.
Standing at 6-5 and weighing 265 pounds, Pettaway is a three-star recruit. He is ranked as the fifth-best player in Wisconsin and the 64th-ranked defensive lineman nationally in the 2025 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports composite ratings from major recruiting services. Pettaway visited Wisconsin officially from May 31 to June 2 and then visited Minnesota during their “Summer Splash” event last weekend.
Following a successful 2023 season with 47 tackles and four sacks, Pettaway received scholarship offers from schools like Nebraska, USC, Rutgers, Illinois, Washington, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Pettaway’s decision to de-commit from the Gophers means that Minnesota now has 17 players committed to the program for the class of 2025. This leaves Minnesota ranked sixth among Big Ten teams and 21st nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings.
