JUST IN: Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell Announces Major Commitment

Three-star in-state defensive lineman Torin Pettaway from Middleton, Wisconsin, announced his commitment to Wisconsin on social media. In his announcement, he expressed gratitude for the support he received during his first football season and attributed his success to God, his family, and coaches. she wrote

“Feeling blessed with all the love that I have received after my first football season, “Wouldn’t be where I am today without God and support from my family and coaches. Proud to say I will be committing to UW Madison to further my academic and football career!””

He stated his excitement to continue his academic and football journey at UW Madison.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, which combines rankings from major recruiting media companies, Pettaway is ranked as the nation’s No. 653 overall prospect and the No. 56 defensive lineman in the 2025 cycle. Additionally, he is listed as the No. 7 prospect in the state of Wisconsin.

Wisconsin’s recruiting efforts are gaining momentum with coach Luke Fickell securing nine commitments in the 2025 class and the team climbing to the 23rd spot in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings

One of Fickell’s recent successes was the addition of linebacker Samuel Lateju from Trenton, New Jersey.

Joining the class earlier in late January were three-star linebacker Brenden Anes from Franklin, Tennessee, and three-star cornerback Jaimier Scott from Cincinnati Mount Healthy, making them the latest commitments before Lateju.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Scott is positioned as the No. 416 overall prospect and the 42nd cornerback in the 2025 cycle. He is also recognized as the 13th top player in Ohio.

Scott’s ranking by On3 differs significantly from other recruiting services, as he is viewed as a four-star recruit, sitting at No. 169 overall, the 18th best cornerback, and the 8th top player in Ohio in the 2025 On300 rankings.

Additionally, Cleveland, Ohio’s St. Ignatius three-star safety Cody Haddad pledged to the Badgers just three days before Scott.

Expressing gratitude on Twitter, Haddad thanked his family, friends, and coaches for their unwavering support throughout the recruiting process and credited God for granting him the opportunity to chase his dreams. He proudly revealed his decision to continue his academic and athletic journey at the University of Wisconsin.
