JUST IN: “Warriors Should Take A Big Chance To Acquire Jimmy Butler” > Stephen Curry.

The Golden State Warriors could land superstar Jimmy Butler to save their dynasty this summer.

The Golden State Warriors had a challenging season in 2023–24; they finished with a 46–36 record and were eliminated from the playoffs as a result of a Sacramento Kings play-in loss. The Warriors were not competitive even though Stephen Curry averaged 26.4 points per game during the season because they ranked only 18th in defense and relied too much on Curry to carry the offense.

Golden State Warriors Should Risk All And Land Jimmy Butler In This Blockbuster Trade Scenario

Fortunately for them, Jimmy Butler is a player who has the potential to save their dynasty. After Pat Riley made some surprising remarks regarding the great player and there were some doubts about his next deal, Butler’s future in Miami is now in doubt. Jimmy Butler is a player who could be available to bring the Warriors back to prominence.

Months ago, we made a big-time trade proposal for Butler, not realizing how much the Warriors would lose as the season went on. Considering the NBA Finals and the next offseason, the following is a hypothetical scenario of a Warriors trade for Jimmy Butler.

Trade Packing.

Jimmy Butler arrives for the Golden State Warriors.

Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski, and Gary Payton II are received by the Miami Heat (accepting a $9.1 million player option).

Let’s take a closer look at the deal. This trade will give the Warriors renewed relevance in the Western Conference and may perhaps put them as the favorites to win the 2025 title.

Jimmy Butler’s arrival helped the Golden State Warriors resurrect their hopes of winning a championship by assembling a new, fearsome Big Four that included Draymond Green (8.6 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 6.0 APG), Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson (17.9 PPG on 38.7% 3-PT FG). This dynamic quartet would combine seasoned leadership, tough defense, and great scoring to form a cohesive and durable club.

With Butler’s versatility and two-way ability to balance out Thompson’s perimeter defense, Green’s playmaking, and Curry’s shooting, the Warriors would be able to take advantage of matchups and play their trademark fast-paced, small-ball style.

In addition to strengthening their present core, Butler (20.8 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 5.0 APG) would provide the Warriors a new competitive edge and possibly reignite their dynasty, making them serious candidates for the NBA title in 2025.

Golden State would be a tough opponent thanks to the combination of these four seasoned stars, each of whom has a track record of success in high-stakes scenarios. This would bring back the championship spirit that has defined the franchise’s recent history. To a championship core, it never hurts to add toughness and another outstanding on-ball defender.

Warriors Film Breakdown: In his age-35 season, Steph Curry remains in complete control - Golden State Of Mind

Jimmy Butler, 34, had a season marred by injuries that prevented him from playing in the postseason, thus Pat Riley and the Miami Heat are hesitant to sign him to a premium contract. The Heat may restructure their squad around the younger core of Tyler Herro (24), who has already showed promise as a foundational player, and Bam Adebayo (26), if they trade Butler.

By making this change, Miami would have more financial flexibility and a chance to create a more sustainable future. Herro’s playmaking and scoring prowess, along with Adebayo’s flexibility and defensive brilliance, make up a potent combination that may be further enhanced by smart additions and the development of younger players.

With this retooling strategy, the Heat can maintain their competitiveness without having to deal with the financial burden of an aging star, thus they will be a strong force in the Eastern Conference for many years to come.

Jimmy Butler’s arrival presents the Golden State Warriors with a crucial two-year window to realize their championship potential. Butler, who is getting close to 35, will be joining a core that will include Draymond Green, 35, Stephen Curry, 37, and Klay Thompson the next season. With only a little window of time remaining, Curry, Thompson, and Green must go all-in with the goal of winning one more championship and securing their place in NBA history as five-time winners.

The Warriors have two options: either completely commit to winning one more championship, or completely rebuild the team by allowing Klay Thompson to leave in free agency and trying to acquire Draymond Green and Stephen Curry. The Warriors can form a new Big Four that will almost definitely win one NBA championship at the very least, thus acquiring Butler satisfies the first requirement.

With Butler’s possible max deal off of them, the Miami Heat can retool and concentrate on assembling a younger, more durable team around Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, assuring their competitive future in the league, while the Warriors strive for instant success.
