JUST IN: Toronto Argonauts Head Coach Ryan Dinwiddie Announces Another Major Signing

Returner Janarion Grant, who won two Grey Cups with Winnipeg, has signed with the Toronto Argonauts.

The 30-year-old Trilby, Florida native played for the Blue Bombers for the previous four seasons, winning titles in 2019 and 2021 and making four appearances in the Grey Cup.

After leading the league in punt return yards (817), he was selected a 2022 CFL all-star. He also returned two punts for touchdowns.

During same season, he also gained 782 yards and a touchdown on kick returns.

The Blue Bombers fell to Toronto 24-23 in the 2022 Grey Cup, although Grant recovered a punt 102 yards for a touchdown.

Due to injury, the five-foot-10, 173-pound return player only participated in eight games in 2023, but he still managed 427 kick return yards and 472 punt return yards, including a 92-yard score.

Along with releasing American defensive back Kary Vincent Jr. and American receiver Xavier Malone, the Argonauts also signed offensive lineman Dare Rosenthal.

Edouard Paradis, a Canadian offensive lineman, was placed on the retired list.

Defence lineman Demetrius Taylor is signed by the Lions.

KAMLOOPS, British Columbia — Demetrius Taylor, an American defensive lineman, has signed with the B.C. Lions.

After signing as a non-drafted free agency in April of 2022, the six-foot-one, 295-pound lineman from Miami spent the majority of the season on the practice roster of the Detroit Lions.
In May 2023, the team waived him.

Taylor was a collegiate player for Appalachian State from 2017 to 21. During that time, he participated in 65 games and amassed 137 total tackles (67 solo, 70 assisted), 46 tackles for a loss, 26.5 sacks, 10 knockdowns, two fumble recoveries, and one interception.

Throughout his final three seasons with the Mountaineers, Taylor was named to the first team of the Sun Belt.
