Throughout the Tiger-Cats’ pre-season training camp, head coach Scott Milanovich has focused on upgrading the team’s wide receiver corps. Patmon played college football at Washington State University from 2016 to 2019, appearing in 41 games and recording 56 receptions for 1,976 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Tiger-Cats Suspend Defensive Back Shabari Davis Jr.
In a surprising development, the Tiger-Cats have announced that American defensive back Shabari Davis Jr. has been suspended by the league and is currently off the active roster. Despite his solid performance in the pre-season game against Ottawa, where he recorded one defensive tackle and a 14-yard punt return, this suspension has created uncertainty around Davis Jr.’s prospects of making the final roster for the Tiger-Cats in the upcoming 2024 CFL regular season.
The details surrounding the reasons for Davis Jr.’s suspension have not been made public. However, this setback comes as a blow to the player and the team, who were likely counting on his contributions to the defensive unit and special teams. The Tiger-Cats will now need to evaluate their options and determine how to move forward with this situation as they finalize their roster ahead of the regular season.
