The Bearcats announced some serious injury news this week: forward Tyler McKinley will miss his entire freshman season due to a knee injury. Wes Miller shared the details with the media on Tuesday.
“He went down,” Miller stated. “He had knee surgery a week ago and he’s going to be out for the year. That’s a significant blow, and it really hurts our frontcourt depth. We believed he was going to be really good here and was progressing well.”
Originally, McKinley, a four-star 2024 talent, was expected to gain valuable experience this season while adapting to the program and building strength. Now, his on-court development will be delayed.
With this news, Arrinten Page’s role as a backup big man becomes even more crucial as Cincinnati prepares to start the season in a few weeks.
