Breaking: Stars F Joe Pavelski Announces Retirement Date After Failed Playoffs

Pavelski Breaks NHL Record and Reflects on Time in Dallas

Pavelski holds the NHL record for the most playoff goals scored by a player born in the United States, with 74 goals in 201 games.

Throughout his 1,332 career regular-season appearances, Pavelski amassed a total of 1,068 points (476 goals, 592 assists).

In 2019, Pavelski joined the Stars as a free agent without restrictions. He recently expressed appreciation for his tenure in Dallas, which concluded with a six-game defeat to Edmonton in the Western Conference finals.

“As athletes, we always strive for excellence,” said Pavelski. “When making the transition from San Jose to Dallas, I had high expectations for myself. I was pleased to witness my game reach and maintain a high standard. This achievement was not solely due to my efforts, as I had the privilege to play alongside exceptional teammates and be a part of an organization with talented individuals. The strong support system surrounding me played a crucial role in allowing me to excel.”
