The San Francisco 49ers have officially ruled out trading Brandon Aiyuk to any NFL teams, including the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers, despite rumors of discontent and social media hints at a departure.
Despite Aiyuk’s dissatisfaction and potential salary cap issues in 2025, the 49ers’ general manager John Lynch has assured fans that the team will not be trading Aiyuk or other key players, stating that he is working to keep the roster intact.
Conversations About Trades
Lynch acknowledged that during the draft and offseason, conversations about potential trades do occur. However, he stated that they are now past that point and the focus is on keeping the roster together.
Strengthening the Wide Receiver Group
Lynch expressed excitement about the 49ers’ wide receiver group, which includes Jauan Jennings, Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, Chris Conley, Ronnie Bell, Danny Gray, and the newly added Ricky Pearsall and Jacob Cowing. He said they have made an already strong group even stronger.
Vision for New Additions
Lynch explained that the team doesn’t make these additions without a clear vision for how the new players, like Pearsall and Cowing, can contribute right away. He said they have a plan for how these players will fit into the team and represent the qualities they value in their players.
Overall, Lynch reiterated the 49ers’ commitment to keeping their core players, including Aiyuk, and expressed confidence in the strength and depth of their wide receiver corps going forward.
