Just In: Saints bolster squad dept, add another defensive back hours after signing a hometown standout

The New Orleans Saints continue to bolster their roster.

Shortly after reaching an agreement with former Tulane safety Roderick Teamer, the Saints made another addition to their defensive backfield by signing cornerback Mac McCain. McCain, aged 26, recently played for the San Antonio Brahmas in the United Football League and has prior experience in the NFL.

Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 185 pounds, McCain has previously been associated with the Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, and Carolina Panthers. His only significant playing time occurred during the 2021 season when he appeared in two games for the Eagles, making three tackles.

In order to accommodate McCain’s addition, the Saints decided to waive defensive end Nathan Latu.
